Why “two ounces of liquor” is not enough information
Batch size, spirit strength, liqueurs, wine, and every other liquid in the recipe affect final ABV. A two-ounce pour behaves very differently in a single glass than in a large party batch.
Use final-batch ABV
Calculate alcohol across the complete volume after juices, syrups, mixers, and water are included.
Count every alcoholic ingredient
Liqueurs and fortified ingredients add both alcohol and sugar. Both matter to freezing and texture.
Scale the whole formula
When changing batch size, scale every ingredient together. Adding only more liquor changes the balance.

Fixing an over-strength batch
Dilution may bring a batch back toward a workable freeze range, but the correct adjustment depends on the existing sugar, water, alcohol, and available bowl capacity. That is why a full batch calculation is safer than a universal “add water” rule.
